Finding the Right Online Theft Class

Often when potential students contact me asking to take a theft awareness or shoplifting class, they aren’t sure the length of course they should enroll in. Our shoplifting awareness classes, for example, come in 8 hour, 16 hour and 24 hour lengths.

How to Choose the Right Class

If you are a client who is coming because of a mandated hour or session theft or shoplifting class requirement… let’s say from your employer or from a a court. then you should ask them what the requirement is. That makes your option very simple.

But if you are taking a petit larceny class that has no specific length requirement or taking it for a personal reason, then hopefully I can help you find the right theft class length.

At the very least you should pick a class which is eight hours long. This is the shortest class that will really give you a good comprehension of the issues around stealing and how it might impact you, your friends and relatives and society as a whole. A class like this can really cover all the important subjects such as:
  • Different types of thieves and shoplifters
  • Learning the effects of larceny on our society
  • Skills to handle impulse control
  • Risk and consequences of theft and shoplifting
  • Skills in managing stress and emotions
  • Learning about why you might shoplift or steal
  • Communication and relationships as a foundation for recovery and prevention
Once you begin your learning of theft, larceny and shoplifting, you’ll learn there’s a lot more to it than just studying about what can happen to you if you are caught. So an 8 hour theft and shoplifting class will give you a pretty good look of all the topics. On the other hand it’s chiefly a survey of these topics and won’t give you the full in-depth look that the long courses will.

Sixteen Hour Class – Getting Deeper

With the Sixteen hour theft class you really jump up in the depth of the subject matter. There’s not more topics, but a more in depth look at each topic. In addition there are a lot more examples and case studies. You might find this class to be easier because the examples and stories make the read a lot more relaxing. as an alternative of having to learn subject after subject in the 8 hour format, you can see lots of different examples of each subject matter. For example in our 16 hour class, we have more personal interviews with the victims of theft so you can really learn more about the personal impact stealing has on the community.

24 Hour Class

The 24 hour theft awareness class goes even further than the sixteen hour class. Like the 16 hour course compared to the eight hour theft and shoplifting class there are more examples, more diagrams and more in-depth understanding of the topics Taking this Level 3 shoplifting and theft class means you will really come away with a deeper understanding of the topics. Sure it’s a bigger commitment, but of you’ve had a serious problem with theft or maybe are a repeat offender, then this is the best course for you.

Still Undecided?

If you are undecided as to which course to take, we recommend contacting a reputable shoplifting program for a free consultation.
