The first time I stole something, I felt a rush. It was not long before I stole again and pretty soon, I was stealing on a regular basis. In fact, I was even looking forward to it.
My family has plenty of money, so stealing wasn't about need. It was more about the excitement that comes from living closer to the edge. My life was so perfect but also so bland and lifeless. Stealing was a secret that bought me to life.
One day I was out shopping with my mom and I slid a scarf into my purse. She made me take it out and apologize to the store for taking it. When we got home, she found a stop theft class online for me to take.
I took the class and learned a lot about myself and why I was stealing and what I needed to do to change this bad pattern. I was really angry at first but the class helped me understand myself better and how off track I'd become. I realized things would get a lot worse if I continued down this road. So, I'm really glad I got caught.
